Wonderland Reaches Sevenoaks!

Last week, the town of Sevenoaks, Kent, was transformed into 'Wonderland', setting the stage for one of our longest running and most requested show! We at the Cat's Grin Theatre Company enjoyed our fifth year of performing summer shows for the Sevenoaks community.

Funded by Sevenoaks Council, all performances across four different venues last week were sold out (ticketed but free) and we received wonderful enthusiasm and responses all week. We started the week inside the Bat & Ball Centre and then outside to Pontoise Park, Greatness Recreation Ground and finishing off at the lovely Vine Cricket Ground.

Despite the forecast threatening rain all week, the weather - mostly - held out and did not keep audiences away. On Thursday our opening lines were interrupted by a brief storm shower, however after waiting a few minutes for it to pass, we were back in position - along with our damp, windswept props. We were so grateful to the audience for sticking it out and by the end of the show the sun was beaming! Such is the British weather!

Many thanks to Sevenoaks Council for making theatre available to young people, during a time when funding for the arts is sadly often lacking.
