Summer by the River Festival: Alice in London

The Cat's Grin were delighted to have been invited to perform as part of 'Family Week' at the Summer by the River Festival, organised by London Bridge City, on Thursday 24 July 2025!

The Scoop, an amphitheatre perfectly situated with sunning views of Tower Bridge, The Tower of London and the Walkie-Talkie building, was a wonderful place to bring the magic of Wonderland too.

Unfortunately the weather was giving classic 'British Summer' with wind, rain and a slight chill in the air!

Despite the soggy weather, we had a wonderfully enthusiastic audience, who hunkered down with their brollies and ponchos and really helped keep the energy alive!

For us the show was challenging but rewarding! The hazards that come with performing in the wind and rain can mean we have to re-jig certain elements of the show for safety reasons and a lot of thinking-on-our-feet! But the dedication and energy from our audience really lifted our spirits and kept the show fun and lively!

We would like to thank London Bridge City for inviting us to be a part of their Festival and are hoping to maybe be back in 2026 - hopefully with the sunshine!
